Our Statement of Faith (Con't.)

I. Justification, Regeneration and Adoption – These three actions by God occur concurrently and include the following results in every believer: clearing of guilty record; imparting spiritual life and victory; and acceptance into family of God. (Acts 13:38-39; Rom. 3:28; 5:1-2; John 1:12-13; 3:3-8; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:5,10; Col. 3:9-10; Rom. 8:15; Gal. 4:5,7; Eph. 1:5)

J. Entire Sanctification – The infilling of the Holy Spirit, after new birth when the believer is cleansed from original sin. It is received on the condition of total consecration and faith. It results in spiritual power for victorious living and a mature love for God and fellowman. (Matt. 5:8, 48; John 17:17; Acts 15:8-9; 1 Thess. 5:23-24; 1 John 1:7; 4:17-18)

K. The Second Coming of Christ – Just as Jesus Christ physically and literally came to earth at birth, he will also literally return to receive all those who believe. (Job 19:25-27; Matt. 24:1-51; John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 1:7-8; Rev. 19:11-16; 22:7)

L. Resurrection, Judgment and Destiny – All people will be raised from the dead, both saint and sinner. Everyone will be judged for deeds in this life. The saved shall finally receive life everlasting and the unsaved shall receive eternal punishment in hell. (Job 19:25-27; 1 Cor. 15:1-58; Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15; Heb. 9:27; Dan. 12:2; Matt. 25:34-46; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Cor. 5:6,8,10; Rev. 21:1-22:5, 14-15)

M. The Sacraments – are signs of grace, as well as a means of receiving grace from God. There are two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
(Matt. 3:13-15; Acts 2:38-41; Rom. 6:3-4; Matt. 26:26-28; 1 Cor. 10:3-4, 16-17; 11:23-29)

N. Divine Healing – Physical healing is included in the atoning death of Christ but not always within God’s purposes. Believers should offer the prayer of faith for the healing of the sick without forbidding the use of modern medical knowledge. (Matt. 10:8; Luke 9:2; 1 Cor. 12:9, 28; James 5:14-16)

O. Rule of Faith – Being born again by the Spirit and giving evidence of spiritual life in daily actions are adequate conditions for membership in the church. The Holy Scriptures are sufficient for faith and practice, and God’s Spirit can guide every believer into the truth. (John 3:3; Eph. 2:8-10; 2 Tim. 3:15-17)
