(The following is a summary of our Statement of Faith)
A. The Holy Trinity – There is only one God, but he is revealed in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is infinite and perfect in all His qualities. ( Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Ps. 90:2; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19; John 1:1-2; 16:13; Acts 5:3-4; Eph. 2:18; 1 John 5:7)
B. Jesus Christ – The Son is called Jesus, who is fully God and fully human at the same time. Jesus willingly died on the cross for our sins, literally rose from the dead, and will literally return in the future. (Matt. 1:23; John 1:14; Matt. 26:28; 27:62-66; 28:5-9, 16-17; John 14:1-3)
C. The Holy Spirit – is sent by the Father and the Son to actively live within believers giving spiritual life, victory over sin, and guidance in truth. (John 14:16-18; 15:26; 16:7-15; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 3:17; Gal. 4:6)
D. The Holy Scriptures – All sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are God’s Word revealed to mankind and are reliable, unique, and sufficient for salvation. (Ps. 19:7; Matt. 5:17-19; Luke 24:27; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
E. Original Sin – As a result of Adam’s sin, every human being is born with an inclination toward evil and away from God. This inclination causes humans to commit actual sins themselves, and may be cleansed by the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 8:21; Ps. 51:5; Jer. 17:9; Rom. 5:12, 18-19; Eph. 2:3)
F. The Atonement – Jesus Christ made a full atonement (covering and satisfaction of penalty) for all human sin. It is sufficient for the entire human race and is applied on the condition of repentance and faith. (Is. 52:13-53:12; Luke 24:45-47; John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Rom. 3:24-26; 5:8-11, 18-20; 1 John 4:10)
G. The Free Will – Humans are created with a free will to make choices for or against God. Yet, we also believe that due to sin, the ability to choose rightly is only because of God’s grace that is bestowed on all mankind. Even after choosing to accept God’s saving grace, a person is still free to reject grace and forfeit salvation. (Gen. 1:27; 2:16-17; 6:5; Deut. 30:19; Josh. 24:15; Ps. 51:5; Mark 7:21-23; John 7:17; Hebrews 11:6; James 4:17; Rev. 22:17)
H. Repentance – consists in knowledge of, a sorrow for, a voluntary confession and turning from sin. (Mark 1:14-15; Luke 5:32; 24:46-47; Acts 3:19; 5:31; 20:21; Rom. 2:4; 2 Tim. 2:25; 2 Peter 3:9)
